HMCRA Committees

Just one of the many ways to be active in our community is to join an HMCRA committee. They are all in need of volunteers throughout the year. Please see more details here about the goals of each of these committees and what help they are looking for. If you are interested in taking part, the email contact for each committee is listed in the link above. Please be in touch!

Our Committees are:
Before/After Care • Community Events • Diversity & Inclusion • Fundraising • Garden • Newsletter • Room Parents • Tours & Welcoming • Yearbook

Noon Monitors Needed

Hang with the kids during lunch and recess to keep school safe and fun! The district is hiring more noon monitors, but in the meantime you can help out the teachers, staff and kids by being around during this critical time mid-day. Feel free to guide an activity on the yard, anything from pogo stick jumping to sewing circle.

When you arrive at school for a noon monitor shift, check in at the office to get a name tag. You will be directed to either the cafeteria or the school yard depending on needs that day.

The students and staff appreciate your help!! As a token of thanks the PFC is providing $10 Starbucks gift cards to anyone that volunteers, be sure to get yours in the office when you fill in as noon monitor!

If you have question about being a noon monitor, please ask Mr. Machado or email him at machador@sfusd.edu.

For questions about sign up, please contact Kathy Edwards at cotreasurer@harveymilk.com.

Noon Monitors Needed

HMCRA is currently seeking 3 Noon Monitors to help cover lunch recess and cafeteria time. We have recently had 3 different Noon Monitors move on to other positions and are short for coverage every day during lunchtime. Please see the job description and refer anyone that you think would be a good fit. Thank you!

The need for Noon Monitors is very urgent so if you as a parent/ guardian can come and volunteer next week and/or next semester, you are more then welcome. The hours are 12:15-1:50, but the priority is from 12:30-1:30. Please talk to Mr. Machado if you are interested.

Community Garden Day – Thank you!

Huge “thank you” to all the families who came out this Saturday to work on the outdoor education spaces at Harvey Milk, Grace Crummett for leading the effort, the PFC for donating food, and the parent who brought coffee 😉

Jonathan, parent of 3rd grader Zoe, took some beautiful photos of the event. Enjoy!
